She received her MSc degree in Chemistry from University of Messina (Italy) in 2012. Her thesis " Synthesis and study of hydrosoluble tetraoxacalixarenic receptors" focused on the development of synthesis pathways to yield functionalized supramolecular oxacalixarene derivatives and on the study of their interactions with cationic and anionic organic species in water by means of H NMR and computational models.
In 2013 she obtained a teaching position in Chemistry at I.T.E.T. "E. Fermi" in Barcellona PG (Italy).
In 2014 she moved to Genova to join the Smart Materials group at IIT as a PhD student working on the development and characterization of photo- and chemoresponsive polymeric composites for the optical sensing of environmental pollutants in the gaseous and liquid phase.
In 2017 she obtained her Doctorate degree from University of Genoa with a thesis entitled "Polymer composites for the optochemical detection of environmental contaminants".
Currently she is a Senior Research Fellow in the Smart Materials group at IIT involved in the formulation and melt processing of cellulose polymer blends for food packaging applications in collaboration with an industrial partner.
