About

Stefano Pecorario was born in Bergamo (Italy) in 1994. He studied at Politecnico di Milano, where he obtained a BSc degree in Physics Engineering (2016), followed by a MSc degree in Materials Engineering and Nanotechnology (2019).

In 2017-18, he spent a year as Erasmus student at the Physics department of the Ecole Normale Supériore de Lyon (France), where he collaborated with the group of Prof. S. Manneville on the study of structuring dynamics in attractive gels. In 2018, he joined the group of Prof. G. Bouzerar and Prof. C. Adessi at the Institut Lumière Matière (Villeurbanne, France), developing his MSc thesis project titled "Ab-Initio Study on the Thermal Transport Properties of Bidimensional Materials : Application to Thermoelectricity."

Currently he is a PhD candidate at CNST@Polimi (Center for Nano Science and Technology - Italian Institute of Technology) in the Printed and Molecular Electronics group, under the supervision of Dr. M. Caironi, and in collaboration with Prof. C.S. Casari at Politecnico di Milano. His research focuses on the study of the charge transport mechanisms in novel organic semiconductors and, in particular, on the investigation of sp-Carbon Atomic Wires for applications in opto-electronic devices.
