My background is fundamentally hybrid: PhD in Robotics, Cognition and Interaction Technologies (University of Genoa, Italy); BSc-MSc in Psychology and Neuroscience (University of Padua, Italy). I work at Rehab Technologies, joint lab of IIT and INAIL. Here, I investigate the neurocognitive and psychophysiological processes underlying the interactions between users and assistive, prosthetic, and rehabilitative technologies. I dedicate special attention to phenomena of human-technology integration like embodiment and presence. 

Through a translational approach, my activities adopt the methodologies of neuroergonomics and user experience research to guide the user-centered design of medical devices based on robotic and digital systems. For instance, I explore the potential of multimodal biofeedback design and game-based features in virtual and augmented settings to engage people in exercises for technology use training and rehabilitation. 

I'm a member of SIE (the Italian Ergonomics Society) and I-RIM (the Institute for Robotics and Intelligent Machines), and I'm active in their initiatives for research and dissemination. Furthermore, I'm involved in education activities and public events to talk about cyborgs, robots, and virtual worlds.
