The "Pedro Lagomarsino de Leon Roig" Prize awards the best PhD thesis in Neuroscience and related subjects that best combines excellent scientific results with excellent methods for data analysis, data management, and Open Science.
The goal is to honor the memory of the Argentine researcher Pedro Lagomarsino de Leon Roig, who died at a young age. Pedro Lagomarsino de Leon Roig was a staunch supporter of the need to conduct science in a way that is fully documented, open, transparent, and reusable by and for everyone.
The first edition of the Prize has been awarded to Dr. Iacopo Hachen (SISSA, now at the Max Planck Institute of Animal Behavior - University of Konstanz) on December 6th in Genova. Dr. Hachen’s thesis has been selected as the best one among the presented applications by the Scientific Committee of the Prize (Dr. Michela Chiappalone, Dr. Tommaso Fellin, Dr. Luis G. Morelli, Dr. Stefano Panzeri, Dr. Valentina Pasquale).
The second edition of the Prize will be announced in 2024.
