Valentina Di Francesco is a PhD Student in “Bioengineering and Robotics”. She is carrying out the doctoral activities in the Nanotechnology for Precision Medicine Laboratory at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia since November 2017. Her research activities focus on design, preparation, physicochemical characterization, in vitro, and in vivo evaluation of Supramolecular Nanotherapeutics for systemic delivery of bioactive compounds for cardiovascular disease, in particular Atherosclerosis.
Valentina Di Francesco achieved her MSc Degree in Chemistry and Pharmacology Technology in at the “G. d’Annunzio” University of Chieti – Pescara in March 2016, with a thesis on "Therapeutic non phospholipid vesicles for neuronal anticancer treatment". Following that, she started an internship with Prof. Decuzzi working on developing nanoparticles for the treatment of cardiovascular diseases which led her to her current role.
