Maria Pozzi is currently a PhD student in Information Engineering and Science at the University of Siena, Italy and at the Department of Advanced Robotics (ADVR) of the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT) in Genoa, Italy. She was awarded with the B.S. degree in Computer and Information Engineering cum laude in October 2013 from the University of Siena and with the M.S. degree in Computer and Automation Engineering cum laude in September 2015 from the University of Siena with a thesis entitled "On the Quality of the Grasp for Underactuated and Compliant Hands". She carries on her research under the supervision of Prof. Domenico Prattichizzo (UNISI) and Professor Darwin Caldwell (IIT). She is interested in the study of the principles and mechanisms that regulate human and robotic grasping, underactuated and compliant robotic hands and simulation of robotic manipulation.
