Mansoureh Zarei Mousavi obtained her M.Sc. in Analytical Chemistry from Alzahra University in Tehran, Iran in 2006. She then worked for a year as a Technical Support Specialist for the Dr. ABIDI Pharmaceutical Laboratory in Tehran. In May 2008 she moved to Taiwan and worked as a research assistant on a project involving Solid state NMR for the study of vitamin D compounds in Institute of Chemistry of Academia Sinica, Taipei. In September 2009 she started her PhD degree in Nano-Chemistry in a joint program between Academia Sinica (Taiwan) and National Taiwan University under supervision of Prof. Ji-Yen Cheng. In June 2014 she completed her PhD with a thesis on Surface Plasmon Resonance bionsensor. During doctoral work period she developed a novel, portable and robust chip-based nanostructure SPR sensor for label free detection of biomarkers.
From March 2016 to October 2017 she was appointed a post-doc fellow in Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT) in Genova, Italy, in the group of Nanobiointeractions & Nanodiagnostics headed by Dr. Pier Paolo Pompa. Her research interests focused on development of low-cost, instrument-free colorimetric sensors for on-field environmental analysis.
Since November 2017 she has joined the Plasmon Nanotechnologies group headed by Dr. Francesco De Angelis.
Currently she is pursuing an MBA to steer the career toward technology transfer and development of innovative technologies and products, especially in the biomedical field.
