Laura Bertolacci received both her BS (2007) and her MS (2009) in Chemistry at the university of Genoa with distinction.
At the end of her bachelor she attended a training in molecular biology where she gained some knowledge in RT-PCR, while during her MS thesis she developed competences in X-Ray crystallography. Her master thesis was focused on the structural determination of a mutant of the Protoglobin from Methanosarcina acetivorans (MaPgb) through X-Ray crystallography.
In 2013 she earned her PhD in Drug Discovery and Development at IIT with a thesis regarding the biophysical investigation of the interactions between a pharmaceutical target and a small molecule. Then she started working in the research lab of a pharmaceutical company.
Laura has a background in chemistry (especially organic and biological), molecular biology and biophysics.
She is currently holding a post doc position in NanoDiagnostics.
