Youyuan Long began his PhD at the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) in November 2024 under the supervision of Dr. Arash Ajoudani. His research focuses on optimal control, system identification, and learning-based control for robotic manipulation.

He received his master’s degree in Systems and Control from Delft University of Technology in 2024, graduating four months early with cum laude distinction, and his thesis results, Scalable Kernel Inverse Optimization, were published at NeurIPS 2024. He completed his bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Automation at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in 2020, after which he worked for two years as an embedded software engineer before pursuing his master’s studies.
