About

Harsh Gupta is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow at IIT-Italy, affiliated with the University of Genova. He completed his Ph.D. in 2025 at the University of Genova, Italy, and holds a Master’s degree in Physics, specialized in Electronics.

His research in the Nanophotonic Devices group, headed by Dr. Michele Tamagnone, focuses on several directions within optoelectronics, including
Investigation of new ways to introduce quantum confinement and novel optical phenomena in 2D materials by performing numerical simulations, theoretical modelling, and developing different types of polaritonic nanoresonators through nanofabrication cleanroom techniques.

To ensure accurate characterization, his work involves both near-field and far-field measurements.
