About

Ana Maria Panaite is a PhD student at Nanomaterials for Biological Applications (NABM) group, at Istituto Italiano di Technologia (IIT), Genova, Italy. Previously, she received a Master Degree in Synthetic and Industrial Chemistry and a Bachelor Degree in Chemistry from University of Basque Country in Spain.

Ana is involved in a multidisciplinary research project (HeatNMof) focused on engineering the surface of magnetic nanoparticles with Metal Organic Framework (MOFs) for hyperthermia and drug delivery applications, under the supervision of Dr. Teresa Pellegrino (IIT), Dr. Pablo del Pino (USC) and Dr. Orietta Monticelli (UniGe).

She joined the BioNanoTools laboratory at CiQUS (University of Santiago de Compostela), and the Adsorption & Advanced Materials Laboratory Research at the University of Cambridge, for 8 and 2 months respectively, performing part of her PhD project on the synthesis of magnetic-nanoMOF composites under the supervision of Pablo del Pino (USC) and David Fairen-Jimenez (Cambridge).
