Corruently works on the development of sustainable biomaterials for marine ecosystem restoration. My current research explores biodegradable hydrogels designed to provide nutrients and structural support to Posidonia oceanica seedlings, with the aim of improving their establishment and supporting the restoration of Mediterranean seagrass meadows.
Previously, Lorenzo worked on the development of bio-degradable and bio-derived materials for coral transplantation, with the aim of developing solutions suitable for field application in coral reef restoration projects. This work also included in vivo testing of natural adhesives on corals at the Aquarium of Genoa.
