About
I am a Biomedical Engineer, and I received my master degree at University of Pisa. In 2015 I received my Ph.D. in Innovative Technologies – curriculum Biorobotics at the Scuola Superiore Sant’Anna then I joined the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia where I am actually a PostDoc in the Soft BioRobotics Perception research line and Project Manager of the EU project PROBOSCIS. In my research experience I worked with both artificial and biological materials. In particular, during my Ph.D. I focused on the development of biointerfaces and 3D micro-nanostructures for cells mechanical stimulation and signal recording, with the aim to study the mechanisms of cellular mechanotransduction. During this period I got experience in micro- and nanofabrication technologies, and electromechanical and morphological characterization of materials. After the Ph.D. my work mainly focused on the investigation of materials and new fabrication strategies for the development of soft tactile artificial sensors for soft robotics and wearable applications. Actually, my scientific interests include the study of natural models for the development of bioinspired 2D and 3D soft and stretchable sensors at different scales (from micro- to macroscale) for applications in soft robotics, with a focus on tactile sensing, wearable devices and related technologies. My work is focused on natural/artificial material investigation and characterization, and fabrication strategies development. I also have experience in National and International research projects, with contribution to research activities, redaction of Technical reports and deliverables and writing of proposals. I have experience in management of European Research Projects, supporting the coordination and implementation activities, communication and dissemination aspects and Data Management.
