Anna Mariano

Anna Mariano was born in Naples, Italy, in 1990. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences at the Unversità degli Studi di Napoli “Federico II” (Italy) in 2012. In 2014 she received her Master’s Degree in Molecular Diagnostics at the the Unversità degli Studi di Napoli “Federico II” (Italy) working on a project investigating the effects of associative learning in rats. In October 2014 she joined the Lambert-Langston Lab at the University of Dundee (UK) for a PhD studentship funded with the “The 2014 Princess Royal Tenovus Scotland Medical Research Scholarship”. She received her PhD in 2019 working on a project looking at opioid modulation of AMPA receptors as a new target to treat mood disorders and cognitive dysfunction. In 2015 she was selected to take part to the prestigious “Neural systems and Behavior” neuroscience summer course at Marine Biological Laboratory, Woods Hole (Massachusetts, USA). In 2018 she joined the Lambert lab as a Postdoctoral research scientist and worked to investigate the effects of different AMPA modulators in vivo in anaesthetized rats. In 2020 she joined the Tissue Electronics Laboratory at the IIT Naples as Postdoctoral researcher.
