Trained as a mechanical engineer, my first love has been Computational Fluid Dynamics. During my research career prior to neuroscience, I have worked at the University of Oxford and at Von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics (Belgium) on various aspects related to the numerical modelling of aero-thermal effects in rotating machinery, as well as automated multi-disciplinary and multi-objective turbomachinery design optimisation tools.

Driven by curiosity and passion for cross-disciplinary research, I have decided to apply my knowledge in computational modelling of non-linear systems to neuroscience. I am presently a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow working with the Neural Computation lab (P.I. S. Panzeri), the Optical Approaches to Brain Function (P.I. T. Fellin) and the Functional Neuroimaging Lab (P.I. A. Gozzi).

My current research interests include the application of information theoretical measures to calcium imaging data and the modelling of large scale neuronal dynamics in physiological and pathological conditions.
