Born in Shiraz, Iran; he completed his Bachelor's degree in Materials Engineering at Shiraz University in 2010. He moved to Tehran to pursue his Master studies where he achieved his M.Sc. in Materials Engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology (IUST) in 2013.
After moving to Italy in 2013, Alireza started his Ph.D. in Materials Engineering at Politecnico di Milano at Surface and Electrochemical Engineering Lab. (SEE Lab) where he has been mainly woking on development of electrochemical biosensors. He spent six months in USA as a visiting Ph.D. researcher at Electronics Design Center (EDC) of Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) working on development of single-use electrochemical biosensors for early detection of Alzheimer's disease. He defended his Ph.D. thesis entitled: "Electrochemical Biosensors: from Flexible Electrodes to Point-of-Care Disease Management" in 2017 con lode.
Alireza joined Printed and Molecular Electronics (PME) group of Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) in 2018 as a post-doctoral researcher working on development of electrolyte-gated field effect transistors for biosensing application.
He is currently working on a technology transfer joint project aimed at development of biosensors for early detection of allergic adverse reaction.
