Mansoureh Zarei Mousavi obtained her M.Sc. in Analytical Chemistry from Alzahra University in Tehran, Iran in 2006. After working experience in the pharmaceutical industry, in May 2008 she moved to Taiwan to pursue her studies in Nano-Chemistry in a joint program between Academia Sinica and National Taiwan University. In June 2014 she completed her PhD with a thesis on Surface Plasmon Resonance bionsensor. During doctoral research, she developed a novel, portable chip-based nano-structure SPR sensor for label free detection of cancer biomarkers in the early stage of the disease.

From March 2016 to August 2019, she worked as a post-doc fellow in Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT) in Genova, Italy. Her research interests focused on development of low-cost, instrument-free  sensors for medical and environmental analysis.

Currently she is pursuing an MBA at MIP politecnico di Milano to steer the career toward technology transfer and development of innovative technologies and products.
