About

I graduated in Cognitive Neuroscience at Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele in Milan (2009) and received a PhD in Robotics, Cognition and Interaction Technologies from the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) - University of Genova (2013), under the supervision of Maria Concetta Morrone, Giulio Sandini and Monica Gori. During my PhD, I mainly worked on time perception in relation to the sensorimotor system and I gained extensive experience in psychophysical methods. After the PhD, I spent two more years at IIT as postdoc and then moved to the Netherlands for a two-years postdoc at the Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behavior (Centre for Cognition - DCC), where I worked with Eric Maris and Pieter Medendorp. Here, I have been investigating mechanisms of sensory-motor coupling by combining psychophysical and neurophysiological (EEG) techniques. In 2017, I moved back to IIT at the Center for Translational Neurophysiology of Speech and Communication (hosted by the University of Ferrara) to study the role of oscillation-based mechanisms in sensorimotor communication.
