Legal Affairs
This Directorate conducts legal activities related to litigations and pre-litigations, contracts, clinical investigation regulations and authorizations for non-CE marked medical devices, privacy (GDPR), support in preparing applications for ethics committee approval for experiments with human subjects, intellectual property agreements (legal aspects), and so on. The Directorate is responsible for drafting all contract models used by IIT. The Directorate also provides consultancy to PIs as they prepare regulatory documentation for studies involving human subjects.
Within this Directorate, the GDPR Team designs, implements, and monitors the privacy organizational model, supported by the Data Protection Officer Team. In particular, the GDPR Team coordinates all procedures deriving from privacy laws, including defining the related documents. Within this Directorate, the Intellectual Property and Contracts Office provides consultancy on themes pertaining to the ownership, management, use and exploitation of intellectual property. It also draws up and negotiates agreements with third parties involving technology transfer initiatives, such as commercial Joint Labs, commercial contracts, license agreements, nondisclosure agreements and material transfer agreements, and provides legal support for the launch of IIT startups.
