I graduated in materials engineering in 2017 at Politecnico di Torino after a period spent abroad in Universidade Nova de Lisboa in 2015 as an ERASMUS student. My master thesis was partially performed in Technische Universität Wien where I investigated Acrylic/Epoxy Interpenetrated Polymeric Networks for Digital Light Processing (DLP) 3D printing technique. In 2017 I started a Ph.D. program in Politecnico di Torino with a co-tutoring with Ecole Polytechnique financed with “Top university grant” by Compagnia di San Paolo. In 2021 I received my Ph.D. in “Materials Science and Technology” at Politecnico di Torino, and my Ph.D. in “Physique de la Matière Condesée” at Institut Polytechnique de Paris with a thesis named “A novel approach to fabricate bioinspired programmable materials: the 3D Printing way”.

During my Ph.D. project, I focused my work on magneto driven soft-actuators, and I developed magneto-responsive nanocomposite polymers suitable for Digital Light Processing (DLP) 3D printing technique. Moreover, I also investigated the self-assembly mechanism of magnetic particles dispersed in fluids to program the microstructure of the 3D printed parts. Therefore, I acquired several technical skills in composites and polymers characterizations (physical, mechanical, chemical, and magnetic), 3D fabrication (DLP, FFF, and DLW), microscopy (optical, SEM, and soft X-rays), object designing (CAD), and data and image analysis.

In 2021 I joined the Soft BioRobotics Perception research line at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia as a PostDoc researcher. Currently, I am investigating different sensors for the fabrication of smart skins focusing mainly on magnetic, inductive, and optical soft sensors. Other research areas include soft electronics, natural skins, and 3D printing.
