I am interested in understanding how plasticity of the nervous system can be exploited for designing adaptive human-machine interfaces to help rewiring the brain after neurological injuries such as Stroke and SCI. I use wearable interfaces, robotic technologies, and haptic devices as tools for studying motor control and sensorimotor learning resulting from the interaction between the human body and the environment.
More recently, I have been interested in applying non-invasive brain stimulation techniques as TMS to better understand the neural correlates of learning.

I am a Biomedical Engineer by training and after obtaining my PhD in Robotics and Interaction Technologies at the University of Genoa and Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia I have been a post-doctoral researcher under the supervision of Dr. Mussa-Ivaldi at the Northwestern University and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab in Chicago, IL. I am now a Marie Curie experienced researcher working with the project REBoT, Re-Empower the BOdy after Tetraplegia (H2020 Project N. 750464)
