About

Mattia Lizzano received a Bachelor's degree in Physics from the Università degli Studi di Cagliari, with a thesis titled "Synthesis and Optical Characterization of Carbon Dots and Infiltration into Photonic Fibers." In 2024, he received a Master's degree in Physics from the Università degli Studi di Milano, with a thesis titled "Gold Cluster-Assembled Films: Electrical and In Situ TEM Investigation of Their Neuromorphic Properties." In March 2024, he began a fellowship at IIT with the Electron Spectroscopy and Nanoscopy group, which was later converted into a PhD position in the same group.

Mattia's current goal is to characterize 0D-2D nanostructures by coupling unsupervised machine learning algorithms with hyperspectral data from advanced electron microscopy (HR-STEM, EELS, 4D-STEM). Additionally, I aim to develop supervised neural networks to predict the electrostatic potential of nanometer-sized structures
