About

I am Muhammad Atif Yaqub, a Ph.D. research fellow at Italian Institute of Technology, Genova, with the collaboration of the University of Genova, Italy. I have been inclined towards materials sciences since my Bachelor's degree, so I opted for Solid State Physics in my M.Phil.

In my Masters, my field of study was mainly Multiferroics, which has potential use in energy storage devices. I believe that a good researcher can't restrict himself only to a single field; after publishing 6 SCI articles in the field of Multiferroics, I switched my attention to one of the hot fields in materials sciences, Nanophotonics. Nanophotonics, a cutting-edge area at the crossroads of nanotechnology and photonics, investigates light manipulation on the nanoscale. It transforms technology by enabling ultra-compact gadgets, high-speed communication networks, and novel sensors, promising advancements in various scientific and industrial applications.

At IIT, under the kind supervision of Dr. Michele Tamagnone, I believe that I will showcase my abilities and learn innovative and novel skills along with the collaborations of scientists across the globe.
