About

Alessia joined the group in 2021, after obtained her MSc in physics at the University of Parma. She obtained her PhD in Data Science and Computation in 2026 at the University of Bologna, under the supervision of Dr. Marco De Vivo.  Her research interests lie at the intersection of computational biophysics, molecular simulations, and machine learning, with a particular focus on nucleic acid–protein complexes and metalloenzymes. Her research mainly focused on the translocation mechanism of DNA polymerase η, a metalloenzyme involved in DNA replication and repair. She combined molecular dynamics (MD) simulations and data-driven approaches.
