SPACEIIT is the hub of the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (iit) dedicated to Interdisciplinary and Innovative Space Technology.

SPACEIIT has a collaborative ethos. With the overarching aim to establish open innovation platforms in the framework of a rapidly evolving space economy, we have established partnerships with both private and public sector partners: among the latter, ASI (Italian Space Agency) and ESA (European Space Agency).

The project ICE-BLUE, led by our colleague Davide De Pietri Tonelli, has officially started.

Our colleague Dr. Arianna Traviglia presents at EUSPA, session Tourism and Cultural Heritage. Title of her talk: EO and AI for Cultural Heritage: From Discovery to Preservation and Protection.

SPACEiit attends IAC 2024, the most important conference worldwide in the Space sector, with multiple contributions in the fields of material science/energy and robotics.

Festival dello Spazio/Space Festival 2024, another edition of this fantastic festival organized by the first Italian astronaut Franco Malerba. SPACEiit attends with Dr. Arash Ajoudani's team and Dr. Remo Proietti Zaccaria.

We congratulate with our colleague Dr. Davide De Pietri Tonelli for his project AstRNAuts, funded by ASI, and launched on Axiom mission AX-3 in Jan 2024.

The Space Festival 2023 also this year will be organized by the astronaut Franco Malerba. SPACEiit will attend with a robotics exhibition (Carlo Canali) and with a round table (Remo Proietti Zaccaria).

Prof. Maximo Roa will introduce the advancement occurring at DLR - Munich especially in the field of Space Manipulation, by highlighting some of their recent activities.

Prof. Yoshida will introduce a research project under Japan's "Moonshot R&D Program". It focuses on developing a multi-robot system for resource exploration and construction of human outposts.

Prof. Shreya Santra will introduce her vision about robotics for Space exploration, especially stressing the importance of sustainable exploration through the use of advanced robots.

Ivano Verzola will discuss his role as Flight Director of the ISS, sharing insights into the significance of Space Technology and elucidating the benefits of orbital facilities for humanity.
