My main research interest is understanding the mechanisms and regulation of DNA, RNA, and protein modifications. Presently, I have a particular interest in developing methods that support the detection and understanding of these modified sites. Nanopore sequencing currently has the capabilities to detect RNA and DNA modifications. I am working on developing algorithms which can better classify the presence of these modified nucleotides in the ionic current signal.
