About

I am a PhD student in IIT, in a joint collaboration with Università di Parma.

I obtained my Bachelor Degree in Physics at Università degli Studi di Perugia, my hometown, in 2018. I became more and more keen on the applications of physics in biology and medicine and, because of that, I chose a Master Degree course in Biophysics at Università di Parma.

I graduated in 2020 with a thesis on the inactivation of SARS-CoV-2 virus induced by light, in the context of Photodynamic Therapy (PDT).

Since November of the same year I've been working on my PhD project in continuity with my Master thesis, with the intention to investigate the interaction of SARS-CoV-2 and cancer cells with protein-based nanostructures funtionalized with photosensitive molecules, called photosensitizers, for their application on PDT.
