Dr Peter Gawne received his Masters in Chemistry in 2015 from the University of Hull in the UK, before joining the Centre of Doctoral Training in Medical Imaging at King's and Imperial College London later that year. There he obtained a Masters of Research in Medical Imaging Sciences, and began his PhD project under the supervision of Dr Rafael T. M. de Rosales and Prof Nicholas Long. During his PhD, he investigated novel radioactive metal complexes for the radiolabelling, and in vivo imaging, of nanomedicines and cellular therapies using positron emission tomography (PET); and obtained his PhD in Radiochemistry in 2020. Following his PhD, Peter joined the KCL EPSRC MITHRAS programme as a Postdoctoral Researcher working on the radiolabelling of cells and nanomedicines. His research interests are focused on the use of in vivo imaging techniques (e.g. PET) to aid the validation and clinical translation of novel therapies.
