Stefano Bianco was born in Torino in 1977.

2003 – Degree in Physics (summa cum laude) at the Università Degli Studi di Torino.

2007 – Ph.D. In Electronic Devices at the Politecnico di Torino.
The Ph.D. thesis was focused on the development of sensors based on vibrating silicon microcantilevers for the detection of physical, chemical and biological interactions.

2007-2009 – Post-Doc at the Politecnico di Torino.
From January 2007 to July 2009 Stefano Bianco worked as a Post-Doc at the Physics Dept. of the Politecnico di Torino, on the group of Prof. A. Tagliaferro, with a research based on growth and characterizations of nanostructured carbon-based materials.

In July 2009 Stefano Bianco won a Fellowship as Junior Researcher (co-founded by Regione Piemonte) at the Materials Science and Chemical Engineering Dept. of the Politecnico di Torino, with a research based on new materials for energy harvesting.

Since December 2009 Stefano Bianco works as a researcher on the Centre for Space Human Robotics of the Italian Institute of Technology, in collaboration with the Politecnico di Torino. He is involved in synthesis, characterization and customization of innovative materials for 3rd generation photovoltaics and energy harvesting applications.
