MM received his PhD in Nanotechnologies from University of Salento at July 2009. Upon spending two year as post-doc researcher at the National Nanotechnology Laboratories of CNR (Italy), in 2011 he started working as team leader at the Center for Biomolecular Nanotechnologies of the Italian Institute of Technology, where he was coordinating a multifaceted research line devoted to the development of advanced photoelectrochemical materials & devices for solar energy conversion and storage. At October 2017 he moved to LEITAT Technological Center (Spain), where is nowdays working as Senior Researcher at the Energy & Engineering Department. In 2019 he was awarded with the Spanish research grant “Ramon y Cajal”. His research interests range from the development of new materials and technologies for smart windows to the implementation of advanced dynamic solutions for energy efficient building facades. He is author of about 60 papers on international journals and 4 granted patents. He coordinated different national R&D initiatives and participated as WP leader to several European projects. He is member of the International Electrochemical Society and of the International Society for Optics and Photonics. He organized and chaired the past two editions of the session “Dynamic Glazing Technologies” at the Advanced Building Skins conference in Bern (Switzerland).
SUNDANCING. Beneficiary of a TECNIOSPRING+ fellowship, granted by the Catalan Agency for Enterprise Competitivenessv - ACCIO' (grant agreement 712949), to carriy out the project SUNDANCING. The project delivered a set of solid state dual band electrochromic windows proptypes capable of selectively control the incoming solar radiation in the near-infrared range in response to both exterior variable conditions and interior comfort requirements.
