Dr. Brabu Balusamy is a broadly trained and experienced researcher in the area of Nanotoxicology, Regulatory toxicology, Nanoregulatory toxicology, Risk Assessment, Occupational toxicology, Ecotoxicology, Electrospinning, Colorimetric sensing, and Water purification. He has obtained his bachelor's (BSc) and master (MSc) degrees with specialization in Microbiology from state universities and he has pursued his doctoral degree (PhD) in Nanotoxicology at an ISO 17025 and OECD GLP certified CRO in India. Dr Balusamy has worked as a research fellow in the project funded by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Govt. of India. He has also worked as a toxicologist and technical reviewer for several preclinical studies conducted for different classes of medical devices and chemicals according to regulatory standards and guidelines. In addition, he has faced several audits conducted by national regulatory agencies, notified bodies and clients. Furthermore, Dr. Brabu Balusamy also served as guest editor and topic editorial board member in Chemosensors Journal, MDPI AG.
Dr. Brabu Balusamy has secured a fellowship (TUBITAK 2216) from the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey, Govt. of Turkey for conducting postdoctoral research at the Life Sciences Application and Research Center, Gazi University and National Nanotechnology Research Center, Bilkent University, Turkey. Later, he has joined Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, Genova, Italy as a post-doctoral researcher at the Nanoregulatory platform with the NanoReg2 project funded by EU H2020 program and also he had an opportunity to work in the NanoKey project which has been funded by the Italian Govt. Then he moved to Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, USA where he worked as a researcher at the College of Human Ecology. Currently, Dr. Brabu Balusamy is a Post-Doc in NanoKey Advanced project at Nanoregulatory platform, PharmaChemistry, Drug Discovery, and Development Department, Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, Genova, Italy. To date, he has authored more than 30 publications including book chapters, reviews, and research articles in various aspects.
