Elena Feltri was born in 1995 in Voghera (Italy). She received her B. Sc. and M. Sc. degrees, with honors, in Engineering Physics in September 2017 and April 2021 at Politecnico di Milano. She developed her master's thesis, titled "Nanofabrication and characterization of color switching metasurfaces based on 2D phase change perovskites", at NTU Singapore, in the Center for Disruptive Photonic Technologies and at Italian Institute of Technology, in the Center for Nano Science and Technology. 

She won an Erasmus+ Programme scholarship during her M.Sc. to spend one semester at Universidad de Granada (UGR), where she completed all her courses with honors. 

In November 2021, she started a PhD in Physics at Politecnico di Milano in collaboration with the CNST, in the group Printed and Molecular Electronics led by Dr. Mario Caironi. Her PhD is in the framework of the ELFO project – “Electronic Food: enabling edible electronic systems for biomedical and food monitoring applications” H2020 ERC Consolidator Grant 2019 #864299, where she studies edible semiconductors.
