About

Isabella Poli’s academic journey commenced with a Bachelor of Science in Energy Engineering from Politecnico di Milano in 2013. She then pursued a Master of Science in Sustainable Energy Technology at TU Delft University, graduating in 2015, followed by a PhD in Sustainable Chemical Technologies at the University of Bath, which she completed in 2019. Her doctoral research focused on investigating the stability of halide perovskites. After completing her PhD, Isabella joined the Advanced Materials for Optoelectronics group at the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT), where she continued her work on halide perovskite materials. Isabella Poli was awarded an individual Marie-Curie fellowship in 2021, enabling her to pursue her ambitious project, BOLLA. In 2024, she embarked on a new chapter in her career as she commenced her tenure track at IIT, coordinating the Applied Energy Materials and Technologies group at CSFT@PoliTo. Today, Isabella’s major research focuses on the synthesis and processing of new materials for photoelectrochemical and photocatalytic reactions, including water splitting, carbon dioxide reduction, and photodegradation of organic pollutants.
