Marco Cassinelli was born in Mantua (Italy) in 1986. He studied at the University of Bologna, where he obtained both Bachelor (2009) and Master (2011) degrees in Physics, with a focus on solid-state, semiconductors and microstructures physics.
In 2011, he joined for the Ph.D. the group of Prof. Dr. Christina Trautmann at the Helmoholtz Centre for Heavy Ion Research (GSI, Darmstadt, Germany). He achieved with the best note the title of Dr. Ing. in Materials Science in 2016, presenting a thesis on the "Thermoelectric properties of Bi1-xSbx nanowires electrodeposited in etched ion-track membranes". Afterwards, he worked in the same group as external scientific collaborator of the Technische Universität Darmstadt (TUD) till the beginning of 2017.
Since mid 2017, he is Post-Doc researcher at the CNST.IIT@PoliMi (Center for Nano Science and Technology - Italian Institute of Technology) in the Printed and Molecular Electronics (PME) group, led by Dr. Mario Caironi, working on the thermoelectric properties of organic materials.
