Linda Lastrico got her master's degree in Bioengineering (Neuro-engineering and Bio-ICT curriculum) with distinction at Università degli Studi di Genova in October 2019. She spent 6 months at Shirley Ryan Ability Lab in Chicago to work on her thesis project "Controlling a redundant manipulator with a Body-Machine Interface", under the supervision of Prof. Sandro Mussa-Ivaldi and Prof. Maura Casadio.
She is now a PhD student in RBCS lab, working on her project "Making humanoids understand and synthesize human actions". She is particularly interested in studying implicit signals embedded in human movements and endowing robots to understand and replicate them, to guarantee a more natural and pleasant cooperation between humans and humanoid robots.
