About

Giuseppe Bardi graduated (cum laude) in Cellular and Molecular Biology at University of Bologna (Italy). The results obtained during his thesis in Cellular Neurobiology were published in the Journal of Neurochemistry (1998 Nov;71(5):1898-904).

In 2001 he received the PhD at The Theodor Kocher Institute in Bern (Switzerland) discussing a thesis on Chemokine Receptors’ internalization under the supervision of Prof Marco Baggiolini.

Giuseppe followed investigation on immune cell signaling at The Babraham Institute (Cambridge, UK) and Temple University (Philadelphia, PA, USA), before working as Research Associate in the Dep. Of Pharmacology and Physiology, College of Medicine at Drexel U. (Philadelphia, PA, USA).

Back to Italy in 2006, he focused his attention on engineered nanoparticles' interaction with primary neurons at the Neuroscience Institute CNR (Pisa, Italy).

On February 1st 2011, Giuseppe joined the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia where he is conducting research in nanomedicine, nanotoxicology and ENM-induced immune reactions.

Giuseppe holds a position of Researcher at the IIT Genova.
