  • Master's Degree in Biological Sciences at the University of Ferrara (Italy). Title of dissertation: "Biochemical and pharmacological characterization of A1 receptors in rat brain: a molecular model of their mechanism" Supervisor Prof. Pier Andrea Borea. Title obtained on July 14, 1992.
  • PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology at the University of Padua (Italy) with a National Selection Committee. Title of the dissertation: "Cholinergic transmission in guinea pig cervical superior ganglion: modulation by adenosine agonists and G protein activators" Supervisor Prof. Pier Giorgio Borasio Title obtained on November 06, 1996.
  • Diploma for the professional qualification of biologist, obtained on 12/15/1993 at the University of Ferrara (Italy).
  • Scholarship holder of the School of improvement in the activity research abroad at the Leiden/Amsterdam Center for Drug Research (LACDR) of Leiden (The Netherlands) from 01/10/1996 to 01/10/1997. Under the supervision of Prof. Adrian P Ijzerman a pharmacokinetic study for the development of drugs active on adenosine receptors for the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases was carried out.
