IIT has established a collaboration with the Department of Humanities of Università Ca’ Foscari – Venezia and finances 1 scholarship linked to a PhD position available at the PhD Course in Ancient Heritage Studies, organized by Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia in collaboration with Università di Trieste and Università di Udine. Research and training activities are jointly conducted at the Center for Cultural Heritage Technology and Università Ca’ Foscari. The aim of the collaboration is to develop novel approaches for digital analysis and recording of cultural heritage.

The position offered focuses on the following research theme: Antiquities protection through digital approaches (Machine Learning).

The recipient of the scholarship will develop the project under the supervision of the Center Coordinator, Arianna Traviglia, in Venice, and at the Department of Humanities of the Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia.

The successful candidate will be part of an exciting and international working environment and will work in brand new laboratories equipped with state-of-the-art instrumentation.

Excellent communication skills in English, as well as ability to interact effectively with members of the research team, are mandatory.
