The successful candidate  will work on a challenging project in the fields of plasmonics and single protein sequencing by enhanced spectroscopy. Within the project a strong collaboration with foreign collaborators / laboratories is foreseen. 

We offer a post-doctoral position in Genoa for 2 years with competitive annual remuneration depending on candidate’s experience.

The research position is funded by the project PROSEQO, under the European Commission programme H2020-FETOPEN-2014-2015-RIA (GA n. 687089).

We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with a strong background in single molecule spectroscopies in the Visible range. In particular the candidate must have experience in fluorescence spectroscopy, FRET based techniques, or Raman.  A robust background in Optics is expected whereas expertise in Plasmonics will be considered a plus.

The appointed post doc will be in charge of investigating and optimizing novel approaches for the single molecule spectroscopy of biomolecules interactions with noble metal nanostructures. The design and the fabrication of the nanostructures will be carried out by the rest of the group.

Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in physics, engineering or related disciplines.
