IIT has established a collaboration with the Department of Molecular Sciences and Nanosystems of the Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia and finances 1 scholarship linked to a PhD position available at the Interuniversity PhD Programme in Chemistry, organized by Università degli Studi di Trieste and Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia. Research and training activities are jointly conducted within IIT structures, Università Ca’ Foscari and Università di Trieste.

The position offered is linked to research on non-invasive or minimally-invasive diagnostic and characterization methods for ancient and historical materials (in particular glass and fabrics) aiming at targeting the formulation of products for their protection and conservation..

The recipient of the scholarship will develop the project at the Center for Cultural Heritage Technology , under the supervision of the Center Coordinator, Arianna Traviglia and of the scientific Principal Investigators of the Center, in Venice, and at the Department of Molecular Sciences and Nanosystems of the Università Ca’ Foscari Venezia.

The successful candidate will be part of an exciting and international working environment and will work in the laboratories of the Center.

Excellent communication skills in English, as well as ability to interact effectively with members of the research team, are mandatory.
