A postdoctoral position in “Development of novel strategies for 3D-Bioprinting of three-dimensional cell and tissue constructs” will be available in the Center for Life Nanoscience at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (CLNS@SAPIENZA, Rome, Italy) within the Nanotechnologies for Neurosciences Research Line.

The project will focus on the development of advanced strategies for the in vitro culture of cells and tissues, starting from the existing 3D-Bioprinter setup at the CLNS. The project aims at implementing novel robotic deposition strategies for cells and extracellular matrix components, to recreate functional 3D living structures that can recapitulate in vitro the sophisticated native environment of tissues and organs. Ideal candidates should have a PhD in Physics, Engineering, Materials Science or Chemistry and good knowledge of both Italian and English.

The applicant should possess excellent and specific skills in the following fields:

  • Digital manufacturing (CNC-machines)
  • Cell encapsulation
  • Micro-fabrication techniques
  • Biomaterials

Candidates should also be familiar with the basic practices of biological investigations and 3D microscopy.

Extensive experience and competence with software for governing robotic movement and for the quantitative analysis of 3D microscopy images is required..
