A postdoctoral position in “Computer Vision algorithms for fast Wavefront Shaping and Super-Resolution Fluorescence images Deconvolution” will be available in the Center for Life Nano Science at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (CLNS@SAPIENZA, Rome, Italy) within the Nanotechnologies for Neurosciences Research Line, specifically in the “IIT- CrestOptics” JointLab.
In order to merge scientific expertise with industrial development and prototyping know-how, Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia and CrestOptics Spa (a leading Italian company manufacturing advanced optical and electro-optical instruments for scientific and industrial applications) have started a facility in Roma called “JointLab” dedicated to exploring state of the art technology in microscopy and Life Science applications of optics and electro-optics.
The JointLab is committed to achieve its scientific program, which sees in the integration between basic scientific research and the development of technical applications a major inspirational principle. The research activities cover areas of science of high innovative content, representing the most advanced frontiers of modern technology, with wide application possibilities in various fields from medicine to industry, from computer science to robotics, life sciences, and nano-biotechnology.
The Candidate will work in the Fluorescence Microscopy Super-resolution team as part of the JointLab facility. The project to be developed in the field of bio-images informatics is aimed to the realization of custom novel generation algorithms for:
-fast waverfront optimization
-super-resolution images deconvolution.
The candidate will resort to modern Artificial intelligence concepts such as feature-based methods, and complex optimization frameworks, to speed up and improve resolution of a novel-conception microscope.
