A postdoctoral position in “Biochemical characterization of Natural Bioactive Compounds applied to Nanotechnologies for Drug Development and Delivery” will be available in the Center for Life Nanoscience at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (CLNS@SAPIENZA, Rome, Italy) within the Nanotechnologies for Neurosciences Research Line.
The project will explore:
Candidates should have a Master Degree in Pharmaceutical Biotechnologies and should have obtained a Ph.D in Biochemistry or related disciplines preferably not earlier than 2016.
They should have gained demonstrated experience in the functional characterization of natural bioactive compounds, with special emphasis on biochemical and biological activities. Moreover, the project will take advantage of the applicant’s capability to work under sterile conditions with the use of a biological safety wood. The selected applicant should have also experience in nanotechnology approaches (design and optimization of nanoformulations, nano/biomaterials) for the pharmaceutical products development and delivery to the target sites. Knowledge of antimicrobial peptides and their interaction with biological membranes is also welcome. Communication skills in English, as well as a high-motivated research interest with a strong record of research productivity are beneficial. He/she should have produced at least 10 publications, including articles/reviews in peer-reviewed journals or book chapters.
Participation in national or international conferences focusing on the subjects of the call is considered a plus.
