Fondazione Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia – IIT (www.iit.it) is opening a Post-Doctoral position regarding the realization and study of composite materials based on two-dimensional crystals with particular attention to composites for 3D printing applications.
An experienced post-doctoral position is currently available to work on the realization of composites based on two-dimensional (2D) crystals for large-scale applications and 3D printing. In particular, major objectives of the research are exploitation of 2D materials with controlled morphologies and functionalization to improve mechanical/thermal/electrical and barrier properties.
The selected candidate will join the Graphene Labs of IIT in Genova (http://graphene.iit.it) working in a multidisciplinary environment offering lab facilities for the production of 2D-crystal-based inks, their optical/electrical and morphological characterization, production of composite materials by extrusion and realization of prototypes by injection molding and 3D printing and their characterization.
Eligible applicants will have a PhD in Material Science, Chemistry or Physics. Preference will be given to candidates with proven expertise in 2D materials and polymer composites.
Salary and benefits are in line with international standards.
The closing date for applications is June 15, 2018 and applications, including a cover letter, CV and the names of two referees should be sent via e-mail to: email@example.com quoting “Post Doc on two-dimensional materials for 3D printing applications CB 74635” in the subject line.
IIT was established in 2003 and successfully created a large-scale infrastructure in Genova and a network of 10 state-of-the-art laboratories countrywide with an international staff of about 1100 people from more than 50 countries. IIT research endeavour focuses on high-tech and innovation, representing the forefront of technology with possible application from medicine to industry, computer science, robotics, life sciences and nano-biotechnologies.
