The Plasmon Nanotechnologies Research Line at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia (IIT) is looking for a highly motivated candidate with a strong background in Organoids, 3D cell cultures or brain on chip.

In particular the candidate must have a Ph.D. in biology, biotechnology, biochemistry, bioengineering, or related field; strong experience in brain organoids, spheroids, stem cells, cell reprogramming.

Experience in electrophysiology, opto-genetic and pharmacological screening will be considered a plus.

Excellent presentation and writing ability together with publication of original scientific work in high-quality journals will be highly valued.

The candidate to this position will work, as part of a multi-disciplinary team, on a challenging project in the field of brain organoids and development of radically new methods for recapitulating aspects of human brain development and function with particular focus on pharmacological screening and toxicity.

We offer a post-doctoral position in Genoa for 2 years with competitive annual remuneration depending on candidate’s experience.

The appointed post doc will be in charge of developing brain organoids and related investigation methods with the help of the rest of the group that has a large experience in nano-devices for sensing and cell-nanostructures interfaces.
