Fondazione Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia – IIT (www.iit.it) is opening a Post-Doctoral position regarding supercapacitors based on high-quality two-dimensional crystals.
An experienced post-doctoral position is currently available to work on the realization of supercapacitors that exploit electrodes made by stacks of two-dimensional crystals such as selected transition metal dichalcogenides (e.g., WSe2, MoS2) and graphene. In particular, a major objective of the research is the demonstration of a compact supercapacitor prototype working in the regime of negative compressibility of the electrode two-dimensional materials.
The selected candidate will join the Graphene Labs of IIT in Genova (https://www.iit.it/research/lines/graphene-labs) working in a multidisciplinary environment offering lab facilities for the production of two-dimensional crystal, including Chemical Vapour Deposition, their optical/electrical and morphological characterization, and with access to different types of equipment for the production and test of supercapacitor devices.
Eligible applicants should have a PhD in Physics, Material Science, or Chemistry. Preference will be given to candidates with proven expertise in the electrical characterization of two-dimensional devices including low-temperature behaviour and many-body effects.
Salary and benefits are in line with international standards.
The closing date for applications is June 26, 2018. Applications, including a cover letter, CV and the names of two referees should be sent via e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org quoting “Post Doc Graphene Labs BC 74636” in the subject line.
IIT was established in 2003 and successfully created a large-scale infrastructure in Genova and a network of 10 state-of-the-art laboratories countrywide with an international staff of about 1100 people from more than 50 countries. IIT's research endeavour focuses on high-tech and innovation, representing the forefront of technology with possible application from medicine to industry, computer science, robotics, life sciences and nano-biotechnologies.
In order to comply with Italian law (art. 23 of Privacy Law of the Italian Legislative Decree n. 196/03), the candidate is kindly asked to give his/her consent to allow IIT to process his/her personal data.
