A postdoctoral position will be available starting from June 2018 in the group led by Prof. Fabio Benfenati at Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia, Center for Synaptic Neuroscience and Technology (Genova, Italy).
The project will investigate the pathogenic mechanisms of comorbidity phenotypes that result from neural gene mutations in neural genes such as SYN1, SYN2, PRRT2, DEPDC5 and novel strategies and molecular targets to be approached for specific phenotype correction.
The successful applicant should have a PhD in Neuroscience or a similar subject and an in-depth experience in patch-clamp recordings in brain slices acquired in a previous postdoctoral experience.
Knowledge in optogenetics and animal models of brain diseases will be considered a plus.
