We are seeking a highly motivated candidate with a strong background in cellular neurophysiology, either ex-vivo or in-vivo. Previous experience in two-photon Ca2+ imaging will be a plus.
The successful candidate will be investigating mechanisms of synaptic neuromodulation at thalamo-striatal circuits, the functional interplay with glial circuit elements, and the relevance for reward-guided behaviors. To this purpose, she/he will apply neurophysiological and optogenetics techniques, combined with viral-based approaches to deconstruct and manipulate neuronal circuits. Willingness to learn and perform behavioural analysis is a relevant prerequisite.
Candidates should hold a Ph.D. in Physiology, Neuroscience or Physics, or related disciplines, and have excellent written and verbal English communication skills. Applicants are expected to be highly qualified and independent
