Applications are invited for 1 Post-doctoral position (18 months duration) to be involved in the “development of nanocomposites that can act as indicators or sensors of harmful agents for human health present in scientific laboratories. These nanocomposites will be incorporated in novel personal protective equipments”
The position is funded by INAIL through the NanoKey project. The project aims at developing a coherent set of supportive tools for managing the nano risks in occupational settings. The tools include analytical, biological, regulatory methodologies and new smart technologies, which will be integrated in prevention through design models. The research will be applied using IIT case studies (novel nanomaterials and their products). The project impact is expected on developing responsible innovation and its regulation.
The research activity will take place in the exciting, multidisciplinary environment of IIT central laboratory in Genoa and in particular in the group of Smart materials. The research of the Smart materials group deals with the development of new composite materials combining various synthetic or natural polymers and changing their properties by introducing nanofillers or organic molecules in the matrices. The main research lines of the Smart Materials Group are Green and sustainable composites, Graphene nanocomposites, Smart composite materials for sensing, Surface engineering and adhesion, Multifunctional polymeric foams and aerogels, Smart Fabrics and Paper, Materials for Safe Environment, Food packaging, Materials for Regenerative Medicine, etc. Close collaborations exist with industry, university departments, and other research centers in Italy and abroad
The candidate must have
Salary and benefits will be in line with international standards.
The closing date for applications will be December 17, 2017.
