One Postdoctoral position in computational chemistry is currently available at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia in the Molecular Modeling and Drug Discovery Research Line, led by Dr. Marco De Vivo.
Research will be mainly centered on computational simulations of nanoparticles. The computational activities related to nanochemistry projects will be conducted in collaboration with organic chemists and material scientists.
This position will be focused on computational studies aimed at characterizing the structure-function relationship of functionalized nanoparticles. Successful candidates are expected to have a strong record of past research productivity and should have extensive experience in one or more of the following areas: QM and QM/MM calculations and MD simulations. The ideal candidate should also have experience with scoring functions for ligand-target interactions. Scripting abilities are highly desirable.
We are looking for a highly motivated candidate, with excellent analytical and communication skills. The candidate must be able to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. He/she will have the opportunity to acquire teaching experience and will be actively involved in supervising graduate students. Significant computational resources are available through supercomputing centers and a local cluster facility.
Candidates must have a PhD degree in the fields of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Computational Chemistry, Chemistry, Physics or closely related disciplines.
